Diners Club® Contest for Aspiring Photographers

At Diners Club International, we embrace the meaning of belonging to a club and honor the value of our clubmembers’ well-traveled, yet unending journey. Our partnership with Twentieth Century FOX to promote Ang Lee’s film “Life of Pi” – a chronicle about a boy’s journey across the ocean in a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger – provided us with an excellent opportunity to communicate with our clubmembers via social media to have them tell us about their own journeys.

With that in mind, we engaged the services of Talenthouse, a social media agency well know within the artist community, to create a contest on Facebook in which aspiring photographers were invited to submit a photograph detailing a significant journey in their lives. The contest has been widely promoted through DCI and Discover Facebook pages, as well as our Franchisees’ Facebook pages in 6 different languages. As a matter of fact, the contest was so successfully received, that it spurred the creation of several new Facebook pages among the Franchise network just to be able to promote the contest to their clubmembers.

In just a few weeks, we received over 2,000 inspiring photographs from people all over the world. We are now in the voting stage, and we are seeing a tremendous amount of engagement from the participants and their social networks to select their favorite photograph. In addition, we had the good fortune to enlist Claudio Miranda, Academy Award nominated cinematographer of Life of Pi and Andy Anderson, Belong Campaign photographer to be the judges of the contest and select additional winners. All winning photographs (based on votes and judge selection) will be featured in Diners Club International ad campaigns, and the winners will receive cash prizes. For more details about the campaign and to vote for your favorites, please visit talenthouse.com

I’d also like to invite you to check out the videos below in English and Spanish, that were created by randomly selecting some of the photographs received through our contest. Please enjoy the beauty of the images from our clubmembers’ journeys and share with your friends to encourage them to vote for their favorite photographs.

Be sure to join us on our other Diners Club Social channels at Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube for all the latest news, event and clubmembers updates. Also, don’t forget to download the Diners Club Travel Tools App, which gives you on-the-go access to airport lounge locations. Let your journey begin and ignite your wanderlust for life. Explore. Embark. Belong.
