2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Highlights

Diners Club International® was proud to extend its 25+ year history of golf as the Preferred Card of the 2016 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters this past January at the Doha Golf Club. All eyes were on Qatar 27th- 30th of January as history was made with South African Branden Grace (World #11) becoming the first ever player to retain his title at the Qatar Masters since the tournament’s inception in 1998. Grace beat out his competition, Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello (70) and Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen (71) with a final round of 3-under 69 in very windy Doha conditions. His plan for next year is to return to Qatar and win once again.

There was success on the greens for many amateurs as well during the Pro-Am Tournament taking place the same week. Diners Club special guests enjoyed a beautiful day at the Doha Country Club with Pro’s from the European Tour followed by a gala awards at the luxurious St. Regis Doha.

On top of four days of world-class golfing, the Masters offered daily entertainment with twin headliners, Double Grammy Award-winning hip-hop legend, Arrested Development and the British Reggae band, Soul II Soul — as well as family-friendly golf activities for all to enjoy. Golfers and Spectators using their Diners Club card received a 15% discount on hospitality, 10% off Pro Shop merchandise and 10% off all food and beverages purchased in the Public Village – just another way we open up a world of Privileges and benefits with Diners Club.
